The Queen’s Court – The Winner’s Circle:
Updated Format in 2020:
In 2020, in keeping with the Miss World format, National Director, National Martindale updated the format of the show before the competition, during the judges’ training and candidates’ briefing. The new protocols for the competition were designed to relieve the princess placement tiers (runner-up) to better reflect the Queen’s Court as a group of specialized competition winners of various categories, regardless if one person won multiple categories. This way, it was guaranteed that should the national winner not perform her duties, the organization would be able to select any one of the Queen’s Court members who was a challenge winner.
As a result, instead of a princess or runner-up, the organization would title them as Heiress (Head-to-Head Winner, Talent Winner, Multimedia Winner, Top Model Winner, Sports/Fitness Winner, and BWAP Winner), which would give Guyana a better chance of winning in the related fast track competition at Miss World should the crowned winner fail to perform the role.
There is no second best on this journey or an opportunity for any candidate to feel or believe she’s not “good enough.” This is an empowered journey for every candidate who is prepared to interpret the world through her own experience and vision and not through the lens of others. We place the candidates on track to build a strong legacy that parents, family, and Guyana would be proud of
Heiress: In the context of Miss World Guyana, an Heiress is a title awarded to a candidate who wins one of the specialized competition segments within the Queen’s Court. These segments include Head-to-Head Challenge, Talent, Multimedia, Top Model, Sports/Fitness, and Beauty with a Purpose (BWAP). The Heiress title signifies that the candidate is a category winner and a vital member of the Queen’s Court. This group of specialized winners is collectively empowered to step into the role of Miss World Guyana should the crowned winner be unable to fulfill her duties. The Heiress title reflects the candidate’s excellence in her specific category and her potential to represent Guyana on an international stage, enhancing the nation’s chances in the related fast track competitions at Miss World..
