Established in 1951, Miss World is one of the oldest and most prestigious international beauty competitions for empowered women. It focuses on “Beauty with a Purpose” (BWAP) where each candidate is tasked with coming up with and completing charitable and humanitarian projects. Miss World emphasizes the qualities and attributes of leadership, intelligence, compassion, and the ability to make a positive impact on the world

Miss World Guyana is a national competition in Guyana, registered under its official License Holders, Majesty International, to hold a series of Miss World preliminary competitions mirroring the role and ethos of Miss World at a national level. Miss Guyana exemplifies the true qualities and attributes of a true Guyanese woman—an influencer, humanitarian, role model, and ultimately the face of Guyana as Guyana’s Miss World. As the face of Guyana, our national winners are Guyana’s brand ambassadors who lead savvy career lives, are champions of women’s rights, and are role models who inspire others to fulfill their potential, recognize their value, and find their place in the world.

Permission is required for any usage of this trademark.
Why does Miss World use "Candidates" instead of "Contestants" or "Delegates"?
  • The term “candidate” reflects the role of participants as active, purpose-driven individuals who are not just competing in a pageant but are also ambassadors for positive change.
What are the eligibility requirements for Miss World Guyana?
  • Must be a citizen or resident of Guyana and or eligible for a Guyanese passport
  • Age between 17 and 27 years
  • Unmarried and without children
  • Must have a genuine interest in charitable and humanitarian work
  • Must be of good moral character

MEDIA INSTRUCTIONS

Press and Media Instructions

  1. Press Passes:
    • All media personnel must obtain press passes prior to the event. To apply for a press pass, please submit your credentials and contact details to Shane Marks – team @ missworldguyana . gy
  2. Check-In:
    • Press check-in will begin 1 hour before the event starts. Upon arrival, please check in at the designated media table to receive your press pass and media kit.
  3. Press Area:
    • Media will have access to a designated press area with optimal views of the stage. Please remain within the press area during the event to ensure smooth operation.
  4. Interviews:
    • Scheduled interview times and locations with contestants and organizers will be provided. All interview requests should be made in advance through

  5. Photography and Videography:
    • Flash photography is permitted; however, please be mindful of the candidates and other attendees. Tripods and other large equipment should be used cautiously to avoid obstructing views.
  6. Press Briefings:
    • A press briefing will be held 30 minutes before the event for important updates and last-minute instructions. Attendance is advised.
  7. Press Releases and Material:
    • All press will receive official press releases and high-resolution images post-event. Ensure your contact information is accurate at check-in for timely distribution.
