Judge/Mentor Profile: The Oracle

The Oracle

A mature mentoring voice that is outspoken, perceptive, direct yet comforting, and highly insightful.

Long before Monifa’s and CaMeg’s Fashion House came into being, Megan was bitten by the fashion bug. From age 13, Constance Carroll was her friend. She was skilled enough at make-up application for it to go undetected by her teachers. Her sisters only noticed when they missed their make-up. Later, she would pursue local and international make-up courses.
By age 19, she joined The Vonettes Modelling Agency owned by the legendary Yvonne Webster of Club Illusions fame. Though the lure of pageantry beckoned, after four years of modeling, she left to attend Maple’s Cosmetology School. Fun fact, cosmetology does not include make-up, a skill that Megan perfected mostly on her own and has become quite successful at it.
After beauty school, she joined her sister Carol’s salon Monifa’s Beauty Spa where she honed her skills in hair styling and makeup. She quickly became its chief beautician and stylist and has been managing the business for more than 19 years.
Megan has been privileged to style many beauty pageant contestants, television personalities and much of the crème de la crème of the local society. Over the years, she has expanded her repertoire to include fashion and in 2013, she and Carol teamed up and opened CaMeg’s Fashion House.
Megan is a devoted fitness and fashion enthusiast. She loves a good laugh, great wine and good company. She is very supportive of the local fashion industry and has commissioned many outfits from some of Guyana’s best designers like Pat Coates, Sidney François, Marsae by Marcie De Santos, and the little-known gem Michelle Chase.
Megan is extremely happy to support the growing fashion industry and looks forward to successful collaborations with Guyana’s designers.
