Miss World Guyana

She did it again!!

We said, “She quana hold duh crown,” and she did!

Guyana has claimed the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen crown for a second successive year with a whopping 1,883 points from the judges during last evening’s competition. Shequana Holder swept the stage clean, except for the swimwear competition, to outshine nine other delegates from around the region. She succeeds Guyanese Shemina Peroune, who was the first woman from Guyana to win the competition in 2023.

Holder’s victory was not merely a win but a commanding and consistent performance, earning her multiple accolades, including Best Interview, Best Evening Gown, Best Talent, and Best Question and Answer.

It was no surprise as Shequana showed up to hold true to her mission to win the biggest birthday present as a personal goal. She aimed to stake her claim on the eve of her birthday with the winning number 9 under her hat. The #9 seems to be a good fit for the culture journey, as Shemina also selected #9 last year. This confirms the power of “She” and the all-leading #9 that signifies leadership, influence, completion, strength, resilience, and more.

With such a stellar performance, it’s no surprise that we have to upgrade her majesty traits:

Newly Acquired Majesty Traits:

  • Grace Under Pressure: Shequana maintained her composure and elegance throughout the intense competition, even when she stumbled in the swimwear segment. The comeback is always about how you get up.
  • Strategic Vision: Her ability to plan and execute her performances with precision.
  • Cultural Depth: An even deeper understanding and appreciation for Guyanese and Caribbean culture, with the big butt stage mascot representing the heart of Guyanese culture.
  • Audience Connection: Her charisma and ability to connect with both the judges and audience.
  • Eloquent Articulation: Winning Best Interview and Best Question and Answer highlights her communication skills.

Holder’s journey to the crown is marked by her prior achievements in pageantry, including titles such as Miss Teen Scholar 2021, Miss African Heritage Queen for Region Two 2019, and Miss Anna Regina Multilateral School 2018. Her previous success as second runner-up at the Miss Jamzone 2023 pageant underscores her consistency and dedication to the pageant circuit. The Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant 2024 was hosted in the island nation of Nevis on August 5, 2024, and featured an array of talented contestants from eleven Caribbean countries.

As Shequana Holder embarks on her new role, she brings that SHE grit that reflects a deep-seated commitment to celebrating and promoting the rich cultural tapestry of Guyana on and off stage.

Congratulations to Shequana Holder and her crown-wielding team. They say the first is a fluke, and the second is pure skill—well done, Stay Skilling!!

We continue to celebrate Shequana Holder’s remarkable achievements and her tireless efforts to promote cultural awareness regionally.
