Project Statement:
“For some time during my high school years, I dealt with several challenges that tore me down to a volatile and dismal state. During this time, I found myself unmotivated to do anything, and thinking of ways out which were not the best. However, I turned to sports to cope with my feelings. I used sports as an outlet to exert the pressure I’d been holding up, and I used it to the fullest extent. It slowly allowed me to become more sociable, more motivated, and less angry. I was no longer looking for an escape from everything because I had found it in being involved in activities.”
Personal Motivation:
“My campaign will aim to reach out to individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts – stemming from various origins – and will help them cope via participation in sports. Depression and mental illness are often hidden in societies and considered taboo topics. I intend for my campaign to give victims an outlet via which they may be able to better cope and eventually recover from the illness. I hope it teaches them, like it did me, how to turn things around and take control.”

By sharing my story and advocating for mental health, I hope to inspire others to take control of their lives and find healthy outlets for their struggles.”
Why I Should Be the Next Miss World Guyana
“I’m entering this competition with the intention of becoming a better version of myself, not solely with the intention of becoming the next Miss World Guyana. However, I believe I’m a very strong young woman who would show the world that Guyana has much more to offer than they may perceive. I would represent our country well and have a lot I’d like to say and do, and this may give me the opportunity to do so.”
